The faults that should not wait
Three symptoms get same-day priority regardless of the schedule: any outlet, switch or panel that is warm to the touch; any burning or fish-like smell without a source (overheated wiring insulation has a distinctive odor — trust your nose); and whole-house flickering, which can mean a failing service neutral, a genuinely dangerous condition that Oncor needs to hear about the same day. Say any of those words on the phone and you move to the front.
A breaker that trips is doing its job — the question is why. We diagnose by isolation, not by part-swapping: circuit mapped, loads shed one at a time, fault cornered with a meter. The $95 covers the method, and it is waived when the repair is ours to do.
During outage events
When a storm takes down lines, sequence matters: report the outage to Oncor at 888-313-4747 first — restoration is theirs. Where we come in: your neighbors have power and you do not (that can be your service equipment), a masthead pulled loose by straight-line wind or a hail-stripped weatherhead, or damage on the house side of the meter. During declared events we run extended crews, the current dispatch window is posted at the top of this site, and Safety Plan members hold first position.
