What Wedgwood built, and how it fails
Between 1960 and 1972 Wedgwood added square miles of tract ranches, and the electrical contracts went to a handful of builders using the same materials block after block. Hazards here run in clusters: when Dana replaces an FPE panel on one street, the neighbors usually have its siblings — and the late-sixties sections carry aluminum branch wiring in the bargain.
We treat that as an identification problem, not a marketing one. The $189 inspection answers both questions — panel make and branch conductor — in one visit, and the report is written to be handed to an insurance agent, because Tarrant County carriers have started asking.
The remediation math is the same everywhere in the neighborhood: AlumiConn at $32 a device, a typical Wedgwood ranch between $1,400 and $2,600, and no rewire required where remediation is the engineered answer.
Three panels on one Whitman Avenue block
A safety inspection on Whitman found the expected FPE panel. The owner mentioned two neighbors with sale contingencies pending — same builder, same year. Dana inspected all three houses in a week: three Stab-Lok panels, five breakers that failed to trip between them.
We scheduled the three change-outs as one sequence, one Oncor coordination batch, and priced them at the published rate — no volume theater. Three houses, one street, one hazard pattern closed out.
